Daddy’s Girl Spotlight of the Month – March 2012

This month’s spotlight is on Randy Reid from Springfield, Virginia and his beautiful 6 year old daughter Maren. Randy, a stay at home dad and internet marketing consultant, has nothing but great things to say about his amazing relationship with this special little lady.

What is your favorite activity to do with your daughter:

Swimming: Teaching her how to dive and of course how to do a proper cannonball! Taekwondo: We regularly open the dojo (living room) before bath-time and playfully perfect our techniques upon one another. I think she really loves to beat me up.

Most Memorable Daddy/Daughter Moment:

This past Valentines Day: With one huge, heart shaped balloon (the kind that plays music when you touch it) and a box of chocolates, I woke her up singing and then asked her to be my Valentine. Then we sat on the bed talking and eating them.

Best Part of being a Dad:

Hearing, and especially, FEELING the heartfelt “I love you Dad” from her.

Hardest Part of being a Dad:

Groundhog Day!…the day to day feeling of routine tasks.

The Greatest Lesson You’ve learned from your daughter:

That it’s not only OK to express your feelings, it’s healthy.

  1. From a Daddy’s Girl, my father was my first and best Valentine to date! Reading your spotlight brought back some wonderful memories. It is beauttiful to see such great fathers, every little girl deserves one!

In Memory of my father whom has passed on, I am sure he’d be proud to be apart of this site

Keep up the wonderful work Tasha!!

  2. I unfortunately never had the opportunity to have that special father-daughter relationship growing up, as my father worked all the time, just trying to make ends meet. Just within the last three years have I had the chance to spend some quality time with him, and it continues. He is 80 and I am 46. We have had some great times laughing, joking, and I come to realize just how much I am like him, in more ways than I ever knew. I wouldn’t trade our time together for anything in the world! I love the closeness you two have. Never let it end. It is priceless! Love your pic as well. May God bless you now and always.
